Tesla Wheel Alignment in Pasadena & Hastings Ranch, CA

Owning a Tesla is an experience in itself. Elon Musk, like Henry Ford, introduced not just a new vehicle, but also new manufacturing paradigm as well. Unfortunately, despite all the high tech that goes into producing a Tesla, and all the AI technology that goes into a Tesla, there is one drawback that you will have to contend with as long as you own a Tesla – wheel alignment.

Tesla, like all EVs, requires frequent wheel alignment, primarily for three reasons. The first reason is rapid acceleration - until you get used to it, it’s really easy to bump into things – curbs, parking stalls, etc. Every time your Tesla bumps into something, there is a good chance that the wheels will go out of alignment. The second reason is sometimes beyond our immediate control – potholes. Potholes are a fact of life on our roads – and running over a pothole can throw the wheels out of alignment. Tesla, as all EVs do, is considerably heavier than it looks, and this tends to wear out tires fast when they are out of alignment.

The third reason for more frequent wheel alignment is the vehicle weight. As mentioned before, Tesla and other EVs are heavier than they look, because the battery pack ads considerable weight. Combine that with high torque, and it’s a recipe for tires that rapidly wear out. Throw in regenerative braking into the mix (it accelerates tire wear), and buying new tires will become a fairly frequent activity, especially if you drive you Tesla a lot. So when you get a new set of tires, you should also have your Tesla undergo wheel alignment – if the wheels are not aligned properly, your Tesla will rapidly wear out the new tires. Fortunately, at Crown City Tire Auto Care in Pasadena we can provide your Tesla with new foam filled tires as well as wheel alignment.

Our Pasadena and Hastings Ranch auto care facilities offer complete Tesla four wheel alignment. Even if you only suspect that your Tesla may need an alignment, bring your vehicle to one of our facilities in Pasadena, and we can perform alignment check to determine if wheel alignment is indicated. If it turns out to be advisable, we can use our computerized alignment machines to align your Tesla’s wheels with the accuracy that exceeds the detection capability of the human eye.

Here are a few signs that may indicate your Tesla needs wheel alignment

Tire tread is wearing unevenly

You experience vibration when turning

The steering wheel pulls to the left or right

The steering wheel is not straight when driving on a straight roadway

If you notice any of the above symptoms, bring your Tesla to Crown City Tire Auto Care for an alignment check, tire rotation, and possibly tire alignment.
